Loch Ness Whatchamacallit

Dino and Fred   (Photo by Nevit Dilmen)

Loch Ness Monster has a formidable ring to it.  Loch Ness Sea Turtle, not so much.

Nevertheless, Professor Emeritus Henry Bauer of Virginia Polytech thinks that Nessie might indeed be the latter.  Sea turtles with “relatively long necks” have been known to hang out in deep cold water. They occasionally come up for air and can venture forth onto land.

Bauer declares that Nessie is probably real, and probably far more Yertle  than Dino.
