Caring for All

Many thanks!    (Photo by Bizarria)
Some of the best environmentalists are the smallest ones.  Bees pollinate crops, earthworms till the soil, and a young Indiana boy cares for turtles.

Eight-year-old Jack Wietbrock wrote to his hometown mayor, urging that turtle-crossing signs be placed on a stretch of road that’s surrounded by ponds.  Many a turtle had
already succumbed to traffic while crossing from one side to another.  Some were babies that just couldn’t keep up.

Mayor John Dennis then invited Wietbrock and his family to a board meeting.  Jack addressed the group with these words:  I just want to say I care about the whole Earth and everyone on it.  The signs went up that very same day.
