Micah to Mikah

Long ago, the prophet Micah said that only three things are necessary:  to Act Justly and to Love Mercy and to Walk Humbly with your God.

This “Micah Mandate” appears to have touched the heart of a modern-day Mikah: nine-year-old Mikah Frye from the Cleveland, Ohio region.  When Frye’s grandmother offered to buy him a dream Xbox One S for Christmas, Mikah requested that the $300 instead be used to buy blankets for the city’s homeless population.

After word got out concerning Frye’s generosity, “a local Microsoft Store… gave him an Xbox One S, a second controller to go with the console, and a variety of games.”  This certainly doesn’t prove that acts of generosity must yield monetary rewards.  It does, however, indicate that the ancient Micah Mandate remains quite relevant.
