National Church Residences evicts 93-year-old

Gotcha!    (Fair Use)
It appears that the Grinch who stole Christmas also stole a bit of Christianity this year.

National Church Residences, specializing in senior-living communities, has the following stated mission:  We are driven by a deep sense that our work should serve God and always produce good for others.  Now “good” can be a relative term, especially when the rent is due.

When 93-year-old Juanita Fitzgerald couldn’t pay hers, she was strongly encouraged to seek help from various agencies.  When Fitzgerald declined to go that route, eviction proceedings began.  This culminated in Fitzgerald being forcefully removed from her home at NCR’s Franklin House.

Now correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Fitzgerald one of Jesus’ least fortunate?  Considering her age, her frailty, and her lack of material possessions (the police report listed just a few), Fitzgerald should have been fed, clothed and housed by any organization calling itself a “Church” residence.  Even after the rent checks stopped.  Especially after the rent checks stopped.
