LeBron defends Lonzo

Ball in 2016  (Photo by TonyTheTiger)
It isn’t even game time yet, and LeBron is already defending Lonzo.

That’s because LeBron well remembers his own rookie days.  He recalls: …when you’re drafted to a franchise, they want you to kind of be the savior.  James dubs this the “instant oatmeal” tendency, i.e.: Everybody wants it right away.

What LeBron especially likes about Ball is Lonzo’s team spirit.  It’s not just about him: Lonzo gives the ball up and passes it around.  Although his shot definitely needs work, everything else is “coming along… more or less.”

As far as the “less” is concerned, patience is needed.  But NBA patience is often in short supply.  LeBron and Lonzo both know this all too well.
