Cassini: Oceans away!

(NASA - Public Domain)
NASA’s Cassini spacecraft, soon to meet “its fiery doom,” has been oceans away for the past 20 years.

First launched “to study Saturn and its moons,” Cassini has been one little overachiever.  It has not only discovered “liquid oceans” on Enceladus, but also “methane lakes and complex organic particles on Titan.”

Water worlds, such as Europa and Enceladus lead scientists to believe that alien life might truly exist.  Jonathan Lunine, “a planetary scientist at Cornell University,” thinks that NASA should move on with “an ocean worlds exploration program.”
