No one is completely hopeless.
A man who recently stole an SUV from a grocery-store parking lot soon discovered a toddler in the back seat. To his credit, he drove right back again to return the child.
He then felt impelled to lecture the mother about leaving her young one unattended.. And who would know better than a thief how dangerous that could be?
Did he then return the van? No way! It was last seen abandoned within a big city. But the gap between a car thief and a child thief seems large enough for better angels to reside in.
