looking ahead.
Delaney recently announced his bid for the Democrats’ 2020 presidential nomination. His platform will focus upon “an infrastructure overhaul, tax reform and increased investment
in science and research.”
Just as Delaney is gazing into his own future, his vision also embraces long-range national goals for technology, “automation and globalization.” He sees
the make-or-break
potential of such trends.
Technology can “enhance productivity,” but can also “eliminate certain jobs.” Our shrinking world is extremely vulnerable to grave “security risks.” This all will
require the acumen of 2020 foresight.
