Her Majesty's Decor

Honoring her father’s memory is far more important to Queen Elizabeth than wallowing in superstition.

Although it is considered unlucky to keep Christmas decorations up after the Epiphany, Her Majesty deems otherwise.  Because King George VI died on February 6th, his devoted daughter keeps the Sandringham estate twinkling through that date each year.

In 2018 the Queen will remain at Sandringham for an extended holiday stay.  This, however, will not be a break from official business.  Such a vacation occurs on only two days per year: Christmas and Easter.
