Just recently, two female sharks produced offspring without male input. These zebra sharks, Leonie and Lolly, live within a
Queensland, Australia aquarium. After laying eggs in a “ladies-only” tank, they became mothers to five hatchlings (three for Leonie and two for Lolly).
Although it’s not unusual for sharks to lay eggs without any males present, it is astounding for such eggs to actually hatch.
