As the Ball Bounces

Unfortunately, NBA players have often been called “pieces.”  This implies that they can be moved around life’s chessboard by forces beyond their control.

But it’s one thing to be sent unwillingly to another team, and quite another to be shipped off to North Korea.  Kim Jong Un, much like his father, is an avid basketball fan.  He therefore insists that any nuclear negotiations include access to “famous basketball players.”

Just what would this access entail?  Dennis Rodman enthusiastically hangs out with the dictator, engaging in such joint pursuits as “jet skis… karaoke… and… drinking together.”  But how would Steph Curry feel about that?  He wasn’t even up for visiting the Trump White House.
