A mama orca
has been spotted “clinging to her dead
calf more than two weeks after her newborn
died.” She has been keeping the baby
afloat by carrying it.
This
particular group of whales near British Columbia,
Canada has not experienced “a successful
birth since 2015.” The population has
therefore been declining and is currently endangered.
