What would Jesus wear?

Images of Jesus  (Public Domain)
Jesus is often portrayed in a robe and sandals.  This Jesus often has blonde hair and blue eyes.

But do we really know what Jesus wore?  Or even what He looked like?  And do such outer images matter?

Apparently they do within certain circles.  Circles that tend to judge by externals.  Circles that tend to call themselves “Christian.”

In St. John, Indiana there is a Catholic school student who was recently denied participation in First Communion because of the outfit she planned to wear. This outfit consisted of “a brand-new all-white
suit.”  Because the student is female, she was told to instead wear “a skirt or dress.”

Such decisions seem to lose sight of what’s really important about Communion. We’re talking about a Holy Bond with the Lord.  Is a dress code all that relevant to such Essentials?
