Bob Costas: Game changer needed

Ask a well-known sportscaster about football, and he or she will generally have some positive things to say. 

Bob Costas can no longer play that game. He has now openly declared that football “destroys people’s brains.”  Tweaks here and there won’t fix this.  Costas furthermore explained:  The issue that is most substantial, the existential issue, is the nature of football itself.

On top of that, the NFL has tried to squash this truth for years.  In what might be considered bad karma, the league itself is now losing ground.  Due also to its “soft-pedaling of domestic abuse by players” and to controversies concerning the national-anthem protests, the league’s television ratings have taken a turn for the worse.
