Finger-Licking Good! (Public Domain) |
Quit hoping and start measuring your progeny’s digits. If his or her
index finger is shorter than the ring one, you might be raising the next Michael Jordan.
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology claims that “adults whose index finger is shorter than their ring finger were exposed to greater amounts of testosterone when they were in the womb.”
The good news is that this group tends to have “better physical and athletic abilities,” but the flip side is that they “are more prone to having ADHD and Tourette’s syndrome.”
Those with less testosterone (and presumably longer index fingers) were found to perform better with “verbal memory tasks,” but were more prone to “anxiety and depression” than their athletic counterparts.
