Trump: A punch for a punch, and then some

Melania Trump was standing by her man the other day.  Thinking she was defending his vicious ways, Melania declared:  As you may know by now, when you attack him he will punch back 10 times harder. No matter who you are, man or woman, he treats everyone equal.

Jabbing everyone equally is not a comforting stance.  Jabbing everyone 10 times harder than they jab you is even more disturbing.  Neither way of being seems particularly Christian.

After all, they're a far cry from “Love thy enemy,” and an even farther cry from “Love one another as God loves you.”

Mahatma Gandhi, a devout Hindu, also warned against such vengeance.  He famously stated:  An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.  Ten eyes for one, worse yet.
