Less space in space

(Fair Use)
It used to be that you’d glance up at the heavens and see nothing but blue skies (and perhaps angels, if you’re farsighted enough).

Nowadays, you might glance down from a jet at 35,000 feet and watch rockets being dropped.  While hoping they don’t land in the engines, you might also be thinking:  Whatever
happened to spaciousness?

Although it’s gotten pretty crowded down on Earth, there was always the hope of elbow room in Heaven.  Now Irving Berlin’s Blue   Skies are smeared with all sorts of human byproducts: big planes, small planes, rockets and satellites.

Those happy singing blue birds can hardly be heard.
