Buckets to spare! (Photo from Humanure Handbook) |
Don't know what it is about jail that excites some folks.
While most are begging to get out, some are yearning to get in. One of
these B-listers is a 99-year-old woman named Annie.
Annie had longed to be arrested, at least once, before exiting this life. Because committing a crime could be tricky, she decided to skip that embarrassing step. Instead, her
niece called the local police to discuss Annie’s wish.
Before you could say "obsession," the cops were at the door. Annie was whisked off to jail, handcuffs and all. Her sentence lasted but a few minutes, enough to put the biggest broadest smile on her face.
Annie is not alone in these desires. This past October, 102-year-old Edie Simms had a similar request.
She made out even better, receiving a “mock arrest warrant” as a souvenir.
