But Clinton isn’t just keeping score. She’s also keeping the faith.
During a recent church visit in Detroit, Clinton referred to the Prodigal Son when speaking of forgiveness. She openly
admitted, “When someone has disappointed you, has often disappointed themselves, it is human nature to say: ‘You’re not wanted…’” Clinton then concluded, “But this isn’t what the father in this parable does.”
The church pastor told her congregation that “Clinton showed women how to ‘take a licking and keep on ticking.’”
Clinton had emphasized that “there is much to be grateful for even when it doesn’t feel or look like it.”
Some say that they will forgive, but never forget. Remembering is fine, but why not remember the good more than the bad?
An anonymous author once wrote: To forgive is not to forget. To forgive is really to
remember: That nobody is perfect… That we are so much
more than our mistakes… That the odds are
pretty good that we might soon need to be forgiven
ourselves…
