Enceladus: Child of Gaia

In ancient Greek mythology, Giant Enceladus was the child of Gaia Earth.

So it comes as no surprise that Moon Enceladus contains some Earth-like "DNA." NASA’s latest finding is that “organic molecules” are being ejected from vents within this icy satellite of Saturn. Such molecules contain nitrogen and oxygen, two potential building blocks of amino acids.

Since amino acids “are essential to life as we know it,” this could be big news. On the other hand, it’s a huge leap from simple elements to complex organisms...

ONE step forward

The popular game UNO now includes a braille version.

Visually-impaired players can access braille “color and number” information on the corner of each card. Overall game instructions can either be downloaded with braille readable files (BRF), or listened to via Google Home or Amazon Alexa.

The versatility of this version makes it easy for sighted and visually-impaired people to play together. It can be purchased “off the shelf” or online.

Drone reveals fugitive to authorities

Many a biblical prophet has hidden out in caves.

Obidiah hid 100 prophets in two different caves while on the run from Jezebel. David sought refuge in the cave of Abdullah after escaping from Gath. Lot and his two daughters lived in a mountain cave after leaving Zoar. And Elijah fled to the cave at Horeb, where the Lord then asked him, “What are you doing here?”

Good thing that drones weren’t invented yet because one just discovered a fugitive in China. Song Jiang, who had successfully hidden from authorities for 17 years, was finally located by a drone. “A blue-colored steel tile” was spotted on a deep cliff, as well as “traces of household rubbish” outside his small cave.

Although drones can be a useful tool while on the lookout for criminals, they can be a scary tool while on the lookout for righteous dissenters. Is there no longer any place on earth where a true prophet can safely bide his/her time?
