James in Beijing Olympics (Public Domain) |
Game 7 showcased a number of “love thy enemy” moments.
Each and every one of them would make far better Twitter content than what has so far been emphasized.
How about the time when James and Curry both took a hard fall? As they pulled one another up, did the crowd cheer? Or were fans so invested in enmity that they hardly noticed?
And what about after the game ended? Although some Warriors remained in the locker room, others (notably Draymond Green, Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala) came back out to congratulate the Cavs.
A particularly touching incident was when Green literally reached out to James, and James embraced him with no holds barred. As Green explained:
I wouldn’t have felt right about myself
for a long time if I didn’t go back out there
and congratulate those guys on what they
accomplished.
So there you have it: examples of sterling sportsmanship, even within intense competition and bitter disappointment.
Put that in your Twitter and tweet it.
