When actress Jennifer Lawrence (the media’s “poster child” for “curvy”) was interviewed by Barbara Walters in 2013, Lawrence had this to say:
I just think it should be illegal to
call somebody fat on TV because why is humiliating
people funny.
Famed plus-size model Ashley Graham couldn’t agree more. E! Online reports that Graham “is speaking out about the
industry’s unrealistic body image standards.”
For example, Jennifer Lawrence has stated: In Hollywood, I am
obese. Graham, however, calls Lawrence “tiny.” She nevertheless applauds Lawrence’s efforts to “help young girls embrace their figures.”
Graham explains that whether you’re a size 2 or 22, “you can be healthy as long as you’re taking care of your body, working out,” and loving what you’ve got rather than simply what Hollywood thinks you should have.
