When the mighty have fallen, sometimes it is the small that survives.
As wildfires raged across Kangaroo Island, a pygmy possum lived on. This seven-gram mammal managed to outlive the “nearly three billion animals” that succumbed to the brutal bushfires that Australia has endured this year.
